In the 1950s, Anna and Christa were mannequins for children's clothing in a small village shop in Germany (see picture below). Teddy, the brown bear, was crocheted by my great-aunt around the same time. Since then, the three have been inseparable and have remained in the family.
All the other dolls and bears were added later.
